Description
The Purple Bacatá Pants by Seis Herencias are part of the Bacatá Collection, a proposal inspired by memory, origin, and the connection to the ancestral roots of the Kamëntšá community.
Each design emerges from a collaborative process developed alongside the Curarte group from the Kamëntšá community, creating a dialogue between my thoughts, my memories, and the ancestral vision of the community. More than an aesthetic inspiration, this process is an exchange of knowledge, symbols, and ways of understanding the body, the land, and the act of inhabiting.
The symbols present throughout the collection represent elements deeply important to the Kamëntšá worldview: mountains as guidance and protection, the womb as origin and creation, and pathways as the memory of a collective journey. Through this collaboration, the garments become pieces that carry history, thought, and cultural connection.
The pants were designed to follow the body’s natural movement without restricting it. Their structure provides space and comfort while maintaining a balanced and functional silhouette that adapts to different bodies without imposing a fixed shape.
Inspired by utilitarian garments from the mid and late 20th century, the design references everyday clothing created for working, walking, and remaining in motion. This influence translates into a contemporary, comfortable, and timeless piece.
Made from a durable and breathable fabric, the pants are designed for continuous daily wear. The material responds to movement and evolves over time, creating an authentic relationship between the garment and the person wearing it.
Each piece is developed in small series, where the cut and assembly respect the natural variation and craftsmanship behind every process.
This garment does not control movement.
It follows it.
It does not respond to temporary trends.
It remains in use.
